1. Your passport

2. Your medical card

Your initial medical insurance card may have been issued by your Canadian school, college, or university shortly after your arrival. Short-term insurance is usually provided by companies such as GuardMe (To view a sample, click here)

Long-term medical insurance is generally available through the BC Medical Insurance Plan (To view a sample, click here).

3. Your study permit (if applicable)

The study permit is a document that allows individuals from other countries to study at designated learning institutions in Canada for longer than six (6) months. The document is generally issued upon your arrival at a Canadian Port of Entry. To view a sample, click here.

If you were approved for a study permit but did not receive it upon your entry to Canada, please contact your assigned Custodian Representative immediately. Arrangements can be made for you to return to a point of entry so that you can be issued your study permit document.
